Daylight Savings Time

A quick reminder that the return to standard time means it will get dark one hour earlier once we "fall back" after midnight this Saturday.  This Sunday, November 1st, signals the end of daylight savings time.  Dick says, “If you don’t set your clocks back, you’ll be all messed up for the CenterPoint Church service”. :-)

Now THIS is Compassionate Outreach!!

Take a minute to watch the following video.  A 92-year-old woman was being robbed, and she compassionately shared about Jesus with her would-be assailant.  You'll be moved by her attitude of caring for his soul!

What the Gospel Is

This past Sunday, Dick continued teaching about Compassionate Outreach, CenterPoint's fourth core conviction.  To truly develop a heart to reach people with the Gospel, we must understand what the Gospel is.  Dick's message can be found under the "Message Podcasts" link at the top of this page.

To listen to a brief explanation of the Gospel, here is a summary from John Piper:

Compassionate Outreach

Compassionate Outreach is the fourth core conviction of CenterPoint Church.  Dick is preaching a series of messages on the core convictions of CenterPoint and shared this past Sunday about the need to get on our hearts what is on God's heart. If we do this, we will not be able to stop ourselves from caring about the people in our lives who do not know God or love God.  The message can be listened to by clicking on the "Message Podcast" link at the top of this page.

2 Corinthians 5:18-20 says, "Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He committed to us the word of reconciliation.  Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."

Working Side by Side!

Our sister church in New Richmond, Faith Community, was kind enough to give us this great trailer to store all that it takes to turn a school cafeteria into space for a church service.  We are so grateful to our friends at Faith Community for their generosity!

Denny Weber is now the "trailer keeper" as he has volunteered to oversee it's arrival and departure each Sunday morning.  Many of us have been stepping forward to help set up and take down all of the trailer's contents. The school has made carts available to us to roll everything into the cafeteria.  The only one who prefers carrying the sound equipment to rolling it on a cart is Tim Germain.  Tim has been a great help in seeing that everything is set up and ready to go!Denny & Tim
