Cell Groups Build Community!

Why focus on community?

God intended it. Most have allowed culture to shift our mindset from the community to the facility. Our cell groups are an attempt to reclaim our Christian identity by a shift back to tightly-knit communities meeting in homes. Some say that the church building can be the greatest single hindrance to world evangelism. It can begin to focus inward and places too much responsibility on the professional clergy, thus failing to advance the priesthood of all believers. When we look at the New Testament and at church history, we find that the church never spread so fast nor grew so strong as it did in those beginning days when it developed relationships in small groups.

Have You Joined A Cell Group Yet?

Most of the cell groups are just getting up and running. Remember, it is NEVER too late to join a group.

Why join?

Cell groups are small bible discussion groups consisting of 4-15 people whose purpose is to get to know one another better, and to have a discussion around the truths of the Bible. The cell groups take place in homes. Relationships are difficult to form on Sunday mornings, cell groups help us to go deeper into one another’s life.

The groups will last 6 weeks. You can join a cell group at ANY time.  To locate a group that best fits your schedule, look under Cell Groups on the side bar. Do you know of someone who might be interested in joining with you?... By all means...invite them!!

The Day After

Chuck Colson quoted the same verse today that we quoted yesterday in the "Pray, Then Vote, then Pray Some More" post. Here’s what he said in his article "The Day After":

Whether you voted for Barack Obama or John McCain, whether you’re recovering from your all-night celebration or drying the tears from your pillow, today’s a good day to remember the words of the apostle Paul:  “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness”
(1 Timothy 2:1-3).

Pray, then Vote, then Pray Some More!

Pray for wisdom from God before you vote... make sure to vote... then pray for those that will be put into office.

God’s Word says this: “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone– for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NIV)

Turn Back the Hands of Time!

Don’t forget that Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend. We turn our clocks back Saturday night, November 1st… an extra hour of sleep! Another benefit is that there will be some who forget and actually have a chance of getting to church on time! We’ll have the coffee on for you.

Why Plant a Church in St. Croix Falls?

Polk and St. Croix Counties were two of the fastest growing counties in the State of Wisconsin between the years 2000 and 2007.  The city of St. Croix Falls grew by over 24% in that time span.  Only 21% of the people in Wisconsin attend church.  That leaves close to 80% who are not attending church on any given weekend.  If they are not attending church, they are not connected to a vital relationship with God.  CenterPoint is aimed at reaching those not attending church, those burned out by church, and those who want to be on mission with us to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to our part of the world.
