Lest We Forget...

Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember all of the soldiers who fought for freedom.  Our family lived many years in Belgium as missionaries.  So many older Belgians had stories to share of the American soldiers they had met as they were on their way to fight in WWII.  One couple insisted on taking us to a memorial cemetary to show us the gravesite of soldiers who had given their lives for the Belgian's freedom.  They didn't know who to thank, so they thanked us.  What a humbling experience, and what a reminder of the sacrifice soldiers and families of soldiers have made for freedom!

Let's remember what Memorial Day is all about!

Volleyball League

Last night was the first official practice for the CenterPoint Volleyball team.  Deb Heichel has organized a group to participate in the league that plays at Augies Woodhill Saloon & Grill on Hwy 35 outside of Dresser.  What a great way to have fun and meet new people!

The games start Tuesday, May 26th.  Come out and support the team!

Come As You Are...Be Transformed!

The CenterPoint slogan leading up to and following our soft launch has been: "Come As You Are".  This has always seemed incomplete. When we come as we are to Jesus, we should never stay that way.  Jesus came to seek and save the lost.  Once we have been found by Christ, we take on a new identity.  We become children of God! Our desire should then be to become obedient followers of Christ.

CenterPoint's new motto is:  Come As You Are...Be Transformed!!

Romans 12:1& 2 say, "Therefore, I urge you brothers in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Mothers Who Make a Difference

On Mother's Day (May 10th) we will be looking at the great influence Godly mothers and women can have on a person's life.  Come and hear a message dedicated to learning how to live a Godly life.  "No man is poor who has a Godly mother"  (Abraham Lincoln)

A Little Help From Our Friends

Last Sunday, Phil stepped in to help with worship to give Steve a Sunday off.  Thanks, Phil (and the entire Worship Team), for leading us into the presence of the Lord!
