Cell Groups Build Community!

Why is building community important?

Answer:  God intended it!

Most have allowed culture to shift our mindset from the community to the facility. Our cell groups are an attempt to reclaim our Christian identity by a shift back to tightly-knit communities meeting in homes. Some say that the church building can be the greatest single hindrance to world evangelism. It can begin to focus inward, places too much responsibility on the professional clergy, and fails to advance the priesthood of all believers. When we look at the New Testament and at church history, we find that the church never spread so fast nor grew so strong as it did in those beginning days when it developed relationships in small groups.

Another study will be hosted by Dick & Julie Enerson (715/222-3374).  This group will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30PM.  The book of Romans, in the Bible, will be studied.  This, too, will be a 10 to 12 week study.  This Cell Group will begin meeting on Wednesday, January 27th.

There will be a possible third Cell Group (book of Romans), also led by Dick & Julie, at a different location and evening.  This group is still being determined.  More information will follow soon.

Great thoughts as we begin a New Year

"The simple thought of a life which is to be the unfolding of a Divine plan is too beautiful, too captivating, to suffer one indifferent or heedless moment. Living in this manner, every turn of your experience will be a discovery to you of God, every change a token of His fatherly counsel. Whatever obscurity, darkness, trial, suffering, falls upon you; your defeats, losses, injuries; your outward state, employment, relations; what seems hard, unaccountable, severe, or, as nature might say, vexations – all these you will see are parts of constitutive elements in God’s beautiful and good plan for you, and, as such, are to be accepted with a smile. Take your burdens, and troubles, and losses, and wrongs, if come they must and will, as your opportunities, knowing that God has girded you for greater things than these.”       Horace Bushnell
