There are times when a person can work as hard as they can, but still feel like they aren't making progress. Do you ever feel like that? Those are the times when we need to be reminded of who is leading us and who we are really following.
I was recently reading in the book of Exodus and was struck by Moses' response to the Israelites after they had been released from Egypt. When the Egyptians pursued them, the Israelites became terrified and began to question Moses and where he was taking them. They said, "It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!" (Exodus 14:12).
I felt like Moses' response was spoken right to me, and right to all of us who are following the Lord in helping to establish CenterPoint Church here in the valley. Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today...The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." (Exodus 14:13 & 14).
Let's all "be still" as we follow the Lord, standing firm as we keep focused on our goal of reaching our valley with the good news of Jesus Christ!
