Mission Statement: Come As You Are...Be Transformed!

When CenterPoint Church was being organized, one of the desires was to help people overcome some of the stigmas attached to church-goers; i.e. wearing the right clothes, knowing how to speak the "christianeze" lingo, arriving all "cleaned up" before being accepted by church-attenders. Therefore, we adopted the phrase, "Come As You Are". However, this always seemed incomplete. When we come as we are to Jesus, we should never stay that way! Jesus came to seek and save the lost. Once we have been found by Christ, we take on a new identity. We become children of God! Our desire should then be to become disciples of Christ, to be obedient followers of Christ.
CenterPoint's new Mission Statement is:
Come As You Are...Be Transformed!!
We want everyone to know that they can come as they are to CenterPoint Church, and that they will be welcomed no matter what. Our hope is that as Christ is experienced through contact with God's Word, Scripture-saturated messages, observing and talking with authentic followers of Christ, each person's heart will change (Ezekial 36:26), and they will be transformed! Transformation takes time as one reads God's Word, prays, and continues to have regular contact with fellow believers. In this way, we renew our minds from our old way of thinking, to thinking God's thoughts, and then living in a manner that is pleasing to Him and that is in line with His Word.
Romans 12:1& 2 say, "Therefore, I urge you brothers in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."
